Well, Gen 2 owners , here we go………………again. The factory gave the new Vmax the same 30.5″ seat height as the Gen 1 . At that seating elevation and with an increased seat WIDTH as well, even more of your inseam is taken up, leading to the ergonomic feeling of an even longer distance from your rider seat height to the ground. Unless you are at least a 34″ inseam or greater, you too will find the Gen 2 Max is just too tall to feel secure about moving around when not under power.
We have found in researching our customer base that over 80% of the owners of the Gen 2 feel that the bike is just too tall to the point of intimidation when backing it up or trying to push forward especially when on a comprised pavement or especially gravel. Very easy to loose your balance when pushing off your toes with 680# of motorcycle as a payload. We at UFO Performance Products were the first to create a lowering link which can drop you down from 1″ to 2″ plus, depending on your rider weight. For many that amount of drop is adequate however, if you are a bit more “stature-challenged” then this modification of your stock seat will give you another 1.5″ to 2″ drop of your seating position height.
We modify YOUR seat for you. Our turn-around time is typically no more than 3 days in house and right back at you. We remove the stock seat covers , shave down and contour the front seat to “pocket” you down and recover with new material. We use the same high quality black vinyl we have used for over 20 years with the Gen 1 . The center is merely recovered in new material with the same stock shape as is the rear . Some customers request we “thin out” the rear pad as well with a slight taper down toward the rear fender. We take this request at no additional charge as well.
When creating our BattleStar conversion on your seats we also give you a choice of thread color at no extra charge. Some customers prefer to keep the red thread , others opt out for more of a stealth look with the traditional black thread.
Please remove the seats from the bike and ship to us with all hardware and brackets removed. Do not remove the seat material.
