The Ram Air scoops are designed specifically for the VGAS™ system and the Stock Replacement option is for any stock carb application. We will be offering these in Carbon Fiber and a limited supply of fiberglass that you can paint to match you ride!
If you already have a UFO VGAS™ system installed on your Vmax, this is a simple bolt on that can be done in a few minutes. The Keihin Aluminum Airfilter Adapter Collars are necessary for installation of RamAir scoops and replace the velocity stack on the face of the carburetor to create a mating collar for the RamAir scoops.
These are the scoops that Yamaha should have made for the Vmax. The entire emphasis around the entire Vmax platform has always been the scoops. How many times have you been asked, “Do those scoops work”? With our Ram Air scoops you’ll be able to say, “these do”!
We are currently developing a custom butterfly mechanism that will open and close with the snap of the throttle. We’ll be posting pics of that once all of the prototyping has been completed.

Hi Jon!I just wanted(belatedly) to thank you for the quality of the Carbon Fibre scoops that I bought from UFO recently.They look great on the bike,and I’ve had a lot of comments about them,and envious looks!I fitted the stainless inserts with screws as discussed with you,after I gave them a mirror polish,what a difference! Sight unseen, I’m sure the wait will be worth it- my orders from Jon Cornell have always exceeded my expectations for quality, fit, function and distinction. To quote my friend and brother in speed: “Too much horsepower is just enough.” Looking forward to one more application of that mantra on my first of the first generation magic carpet ride.
I purchased a set of ram-air scoops from Jon. I got the fiberglass ones and painted them. Theses scoops are bad ass looking. I think I was Jon’s first customer to get the scoops and with Jon’s help (which is the best you can get) I got them working great. For those looking for excellent performance and backing this is the way to go.
